Here lies bob...

Hi everyone!
Teri here, and I am happy to be back on the GCD Studios blog today.
This month, the team was challenged to make Halloween and Fall tags.
I've always been a tag fan so this challenge was right up my alley!
The base of all the tags I am going to share with you today are chipboard tags from GCD's collection of cool Chip Art chipboard shapes. Cool stuff!
I started with the Halloween tag and decided to make two tags instead. I picked two tags that reminded me of a tombstones.
I used the Chip Art tool to put the words on the tags.
The first one says, "Mr. Dude. RIP." The second one says, "Here lies Bob."

Once I put the words on the tags, I added a coat of gray paint. I really wanted the tags to look a bit aged and weathered so I sanded the tags while the paint was just barely dry. That helped to lift some of the paint and tear one of the tags a little bit so it added their aged look.
When I was finished, I made a goofy little Halloween scene for them.

For my Fall tag, I made one simple tag.

I started again with a chipboard tag from the ChipArt collection of chipboard shapes. This time, I covered it with paper.
I also used a house and pair of trees. I covered the house with patterned paper from GCD's Independence collection and roughed up the edges with sand paper. I also hammered in a heart onto the house with the Chip Art tool.
I gave the trees leaves with Chip Art tool. Rather than painting the trees, I used added a layer of Glossy Accents clear glaze to their tops. I think it just gives them a different look than what I would have achieved with paint.

I finished the tag off with the sentiment and jute. I also added some grass cut from GCD patterned paper.
Thanks for visiting today.
I'll be back again soon.

  4. The headstone tags are too cute! I'm going to have to make them for a layout and cards. I ordered the Birds and the Mini chip art set. I already got my Sparrow and Chickadee alphas from eBay. These tools are so cool and I'm glad I found your blog and learned all about them here. :)
