What... fall is almost here?

Can you believe that fall is so close? Can you believe that the year is almost over?! Some how this year has gone by really fast and I find myself posting about Halloween stuff today! CRAZY!

We have something fun for you today. Our very talented Guest Design Artist Nathalia, has once again...made some amazing projects. She also has included a sketch, for you all to try out.

Bio:

Hello, my name is Andrea Amu and I am very excited to share my scrapbooking designs using GCD Studios products with you all! I come from small town, Pennsylvania and I have been enthusiastic about scrapping and paper crafting for well over 12 years. I am a hoarder of many of my favorite supplies, including patterned paper and vintage lace trims and ribbons! Aside from the crafting, I enjoy hanging at home with my hubby, photography, browsing craft fairs and antique/flea-markets and collecting unique pieces of silver and gemstone jewelry.

Paper crafting is a passion that I enjoy every day. There is nothing I would love to do more than share what I have created and learn from others as I develop new techniques and styles. It used to be about preserving the past for me...we all know better. It would thrill me to know that I have created a spark of inspiration for someone who's looking for some artistic influence.

My desire and dream to expand my experiences and my opportunities has been at a recent high. I have been scrapbooking for over 13 years and every year I find myself more wrapped up in my crafts than the previous year. I am searching to be a part of design teams, magazine and any manufacturers whose products have been an inspiration to me.

The Blog party winners... get crafty!

During the blog party (2 weeks ago), we had several winners of the new collections and just this past few days... many of them have been sharing their beautiful work with us.

Michelle Roycroft, our winner of the Party it up collection... has created these CUTE projects.

She wrote:

"I was so thrilled when I won during the blog hop. And I was even more thrilled when I got my paper set. I absolutely adore the Party it Up collection. I love that every sheet has texture. It makes it feel like the paper cost much more than it actually does. And the glitter is just perfect. It's not too much, so it doesn't scream "Look at me I have glitter!" and would still work perfectly fine with a boy page. It's got just the right amount of subtlety. And the sheen on some of the papers is just to die for. The acetate is great, too. It's heavy weight, so it's easy to work with.
Because of the texture and glitter, it's sometimes hard to get regular adhesive to stick well. But having to use a stronger adhesive is no big deal considering the beautiful papers you get to work with in return.

The perfect gift!

Yesterday our very talented Grace T, turned in this darling gift set. I love "pampering" bath stuff and thought I'd share this with you all. This would make the perfect gift.

Pamper Gift Set

I covered some toiletry items plus a small candle with the Morning Glory pack to create this gift set that would be perfect for a friend, a mom that needs a pick me upper or a bride to be. I didn't have a cute basket to match so I grabbed one of my kids' shoe box and covered that with paper as well to make it all pretty. I finished off each toiletry item with rafia and a layered flower.

A few months back, I came across a very fun challenge! On the 12th day of the month... you take 12 photos :) and then scrap them the next day.

I love this challenge because... It helps you

1) Doccument one day for each month

2) You have to think out of the box, when taking photos

3) You get to scrap the photos when you are done :)

Provence Collection

Yesterday, I said I had a Provence layout and here it is. This is a photo of my Mom at the age of 3.

Things I love about this collection:

1) It's sooooo BOLD with patterns... that you don't need a lot to make a great layout.
2) It goes REALLY well with vintage photos.
3) The colors give it a rich/quality look

Let’s see… a little about me… I am a stay at home mom who volunteers WAY TOO MUCH at the kids’ high school! My husband and I have three kids… Jessica is 19, Christian is our 16-year-old athlete and campus leader, and Anna is our 4-year-old bundle of love and laughter! I grew up in Mission Viejo… graduated from MVHS in 1988! I can’t tell you how THRILLED I was to read that you are based right around the corner in Lake Forest!!!

Hummm… what else? I am fun loving and ABSOLUTELY a “cup half full” kinda gal! Welcome Our Aug Guest Design Artist

I'm SOOO EXCITED to announce our Aug Guest Design Artist...

Nathalia Castellon

This girl is amazingly talented! I love everything that she makes and we are lucky to feature her for the whole month! Every Monday, I'll be posting new goods from our dear Nathalia, so keep a look out for them.

Here are a few things (and by that I mean a LOT of things) she made and I hope it gets your creative ideas flowing.

Perfumed Gift Box Set:

I covered all parts of this box with an assortment of Cosette papers then created a double bow velcro closure.

8x8 Layout:

I created a ruffled paper ribbon border around the main photo that shows off the pink metallic side of this beautiful double sided patterned paper.

Fleur De Lis Wired Frame Plate Wall Decor:

I covered the plate with patterned paper, added a fleur de lis chipboard accent to the center of the plate and a double bow along the top of the wire frame.

Cosette Serving Tray:

A mini tray that will hold perfume bottles, jewelry and more. It sits on pretty crystal beads for feet.

Mini Dresser Bureau:

From top to bottom to the inside lining of the drawers you'll find a variety of Cosette patterned papers. Little details like large rhinestones accent the drawer handles and large crystal beads create the feet the dresser stand upon.
