Shabby Clean

Are you shabby? Clean and Graphic? Elegant? Plain and Simple? Ecclectic? Hmmm... let me think... Well I don't know what your style is, but I have labeled my style Shabby Clean. Yes, you heard right. Shabby Clean. Let me explain.

GCDManyThanks

I really love the look of shabby chic. I love the vintage-y feel to it all. However, I adore clean lines and crisp looking design. So I have combined the two to create Shabby Clean. Pretty fun, no?! I used the Fun House collection on this card. Yes there is a floral in the collection, and it's gorgeous! So what is your style?

I'm out!

This creative Girl!

Hello all, Leslie Davis back again to share my first layout of the 2011 Design Team!!

For those of you new to GCD Studio's, I’m Leslie Davis, a southern girl living in Missouri. I'm married to my high school sweetheart who loves me and all my creative craziness. We are blessed with 2 wonderful children who are 12 and 15. Seeing how fast they are growing up makes me very thankful I've been scrapbooking for a long time, like 13 years to be exact.

I have always been a “creative” girl. As a graphic designer, scrapbooking is so very rewarding for me creatively. It is art, created on paper about the people I love that forever captures moments in time. I just don't think it gets any better than that! I'd love for you to visit my blog, paperdaisyme.blogspot.com, and see the other projects I get myself into, because I always seem to have several projects going at once. ;)

I'm so very happy and honored to be back for another term at GCD Studios. I mean, come on, have you seen
all the new designs? They are delicious and I can't wait to bring you layouts that inspire you to create. I loved each of the challenges Heidi had for us last year and found each of them so rewarding. I love a good challenge. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us and you this year!

And on that note, I think it's time for me to actually share the layout!! Heidi asked us to think spring. And the first thing that came to mind is our annual first bike ride of spring! It's such a great way to spend a spring day!

I absolutely love the Fun House collection! While I know I have carnival and circus photos that will work fabulously with this collection, the fun color palette and designs can be used for so much more!

Here are a few close-ups.

The banner was part of this fun collection of notions. I actually used the backside and how cute is that?

And the little flag, it comes in a little kit complete with stickers and mini flag poles you can customize however you like!

I hope you can get your hands on the Fun House Collection. It has sure brought some fun to my page!

How cute are these?

Today I get to share my last assignment as a member of the GCD design team. It’s crazy to think that it’s already been a year – but time flies when you are having fun and being a design team member working with such talent this year has been truly fun! For our last assignment Heidi challenged us to make something to represent spring. Lately I have been having fun creating hair accessories for my daughter. Using some tulle, a large flower that I picked up from my local craft store and a felt embellishment from the Homespun Chic collection – this little flower came together quickly! Here’s Ashlee (my daughter) modeling her newest hair clip: So what’s even more fun than having a new hair accessory for you? Well giving one as a gift of course! Using an old tin that use to hold flowers and one of the newest releases from GCD (funhouse collection) – I quickly altered the outside of this tin and placed the flower inside. My daughter is VERY excited to give this to her little friend that has admired many of Ashlee’s bows – I hope this puts a smile on her face! Thanks for letting me share with you today – I wish GCD Studios and the new design team members a super fantastic year filled with lots of success and memories to last a lifetime.

One Spring Day

Hey, everyone! Melissa here with my last GCD Studios post. I have loved this last year of designing with GCD and am excited to share my last layout here on the blog :-)

I created this layout using the new papers from the "Great Outdoors" line by Heather Tozzi. This line has the cutest papers! Last Spring, my husband and I took a drive out to Bear Lake and I remember what a beautiful, sunny spring day it was! The pictures went perfectly with this line of papers.

Supplies Used:

- GCD Studios - Great Outdoors Patterned Paper
- Bazzill White Cardstock
- Kraft Cardstock
- Studio Calico Alphabet Stickers
- Thread
- EK Success Bubble Border Punch
- Sewing Machine
- Typewriter
- Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch

This past year has been an exciting one for me! I can still remember the day I got the phone call from Heidi asking me to come aboard the GCD team!! That was one of the most thrilling moments! I couldn't believe that I had made it onto the team :-) I want to thank Heidi for all of her hard work she does- she is truly a great person to work for! And I would like to thank GCD Studios for their generosity with their products this past year! I remember when I got the first box of goodies from them and it was like Christmas morning! Thank you so much! I also have them to thank for my first publication in the Scrapbook Trends magazine! One of the layouts I made last June for GCD Studios was picked up by Scrapbook Trends - my very FIRST publication in a magazine! Another extremely memorable moment was made when I opened up my email and saw the request for the publication :-)

I am super excited to see what the new team brings to the table this year!! Congratulations to all of you ladies!

xoxo,
Melissa

a spring-themed project

Hello, friends! Jill Cornell here with my last project for GCD Studios. I've had
a fantastic year on the team and want to thank Heidi and crew for such a great
experience! I'll definitely keep creating with all the new collections as GCD
put out some of my favorites yet! I'm also so thankful to have met such
wonderful and talented ladies who have been with me on the team for the past
year!

Heidi asked the design team to create a spring-themed project. As it's just spring here, I pulled out some photos from last year. We definitely partake in fun Easter traditions at our house - baskets, pretty dresses, the Easter bunny and egg hunts - but it is more important for us to teach our girls about the meaning of Easter. We celebrate because of the gift of eternal life we
have through Jesus. We found a fantastic book that shares our reason for celebrating and plan to read it every year.

For this layout, I used the new Soul Food collection by Melody Ross along with
embellishments from the Homespun Chic collection.

I had to punch a "happy" little butterfly to dot the "i" in my
title.

I used one of the transparency frames from Homespun Chic to highlight the
photo.

All the best!
Jill

One last sweet layout with Jamie

It is time for my last layout for the gcd studios blog, however, it is NOT my last layout with gcd studios stuff ... I LOVE all the new lines...and I can't stop creating with it until my last piece of paper is used up:-) :-) :-)

I used the GORGEOUS Soul Food Collection for my layout. The paper with the white flowers (Soulfield) is my favorite. I put a few buttons inside the flowers, added a couple of butterflies and flowers. For my title, I used the ChipArt Tool and painted over with white and light brown paint.

Thank-you so much gcd studios! It has been a wonderful experience and I can't wait to see the beautiful creations from the new DT!
