Do you call these Matryoshka or Babushka?

Do you call these Matryoshka or Babushka? Either way I think they are sooooo cute! They have an old world folksy charm that I just adore! Good thing to because this is our theme for this month at GCD Studios.

Adorable right?

Just because I think they are super cute I couldn't resist making a card that is a very literal interpretation of the theme.

Supplies: (All GCD Studios, unless otherwise noted)
Patterned paper: Melody Ross Artsy Urban, (green gingham) Homespun Chic, Crochet flower: Artsy Urban, Clear Button: Foo-Fa-La, Cardstock: (black, white)The Paper Co., (yellow) DCWV, Decorative Scissors: Fiskars,
size: 3.25x7"

I had so much fun making her! I created the pattern myself and then paper pieced the outfit from GCD Studios Melody Ross Artsy Urban Papers. I created the button by backing a clear button with some Homespun Chic papers. My favorite part is that sweet little crochet flower, also from the Artsy Urban line.

I also decided to make a card more loosely based on the theme.

Supplies: (All GCD Studios, unless otherwise noted)
Patterned paper: Melody Ross Artsy Urban, Button: Melody Ross Homespun Chic, Chip Art Tools: Chickadee Uppercase Alphabet, Mini Shapes, Cardstock: The Paper Co., Border Punch: Fiskars, Die: Sizzix
Size: 7x5"

I took the idea of something homemade and folksy and created this patchwork look. More Artsy Urban papers helped create the perfect mix of pattern and color. I finished it off with a tag I die cut from some chipboard and added the sentiment with my Chip Art Tools.

Thanks and have a fabby day!
