Items for a fun themed party

Hello!!! It's me again (Lori). Before I share the tutorial with you I want to show a couple of other things that can be created for a party. They are easy and inexpensive to make. I got the ideas from marthastewart.com. The silverware pockets were originally to be made from fabric. But I thought it would be easier (and just as cute) to make them from paper. I made these three in approx. 30 minutes. Here's the link http://www.marthastewart.com/photogallery/60-outdoor-party-ideas#slide_54

The paper latterns are pretty easy to make as well. Once you make one (and have the pieces pre cut) you could make several in an hour or so. Somehow mine didn't turn out as fat and round as theirs. I will have to try cutting the paper the other direction and see if that makes a difference. :)http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.58031cf9775720e593598e10d373a0a0/?vgnextoid=e9cd608f8532f010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&vgnextch annel=b88a2e912b11f010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&vgnextfmt=print&currentslide=1&page=1

As you already know. The theme for this month is a party theme. I had such a fun time creating these little party decorations. My mind went crazy with ideas. I browsed the Internet and found some amazing how-to's.
My nine year old daughter's teacher had some empty little tea boxes in her classroom this past year. So my sweetsy daughter thought of me and asked her teacher if she could bring them home. Cause I do stuff like that. I keep paper boxes and shaped cards to use as templates. It's quite resourceful! :)
All I had to do was carefully pull the box apart and bammo. It was ready to trace and cut out. It fit nicely on a 12x12 sheet of paper.

Above is the completed box.

1. Trace template onto paper. Cut out.

3. Cut slits for flaps to fold into.

4. Apply glue to flap and fold.
5. Tuck in flaps.

6. Finshed box. Ready to decorate.
