WHAT A CUTE IDEA!!!

I was excited when I got the Independence line to work with, and immediately thought of how I could do some altered projects to go with my Americana themed kitchen. I saw an idea in a magazine recently of giving each member of your family a clipboard to store any paperwork, to keep it from cluttering your kitchen countertops. I have been on a decluttering/organizing kick lately and knew I wanted to try this. What better way than with GCD's Independence line that will match well with my kitchen!

I went to the dollar store and got 5 medium sized clipboards. I used Mod Podge to first cover them with patterned paper.

I inked the sides, but I will probably go back and paint them since the ink didn't cover up the pattern underneath as well as I would have liked. Next, I used some miscellaneous ribbon and flowers from Michaels' clearance bins to decorate the tops, along with some old sticky tags and an American Crafts foam alphabet letter (for each person's first letter of their name).

I didn't to make these too bumpy or thick, so the GCD Artsy Urban collection butterfly stickers were perfect to decorate the bottom of each clipbboard.

I used a glue gun to adhere magnet tape to the back of each clipboard.

And they are finished! Up, in place, and ready for the next time a big stack of undistributed paperwork threatens to clutter my kitchen countertops! :)

Supplies used: patterned paper, butterfly stickers: GCD Studios; ribbon, flowers: Michaels; foam letter: American Crafts; tag: misc.

  1. oh............my..............gosh! I just adore these!!! I gotta try this. School is starting soon and these would be a perfect project to put up on the fridge to keep track of each kiddos homeowrk or assignments and all of that paperwork that always accompanies the first week of school. TY for sharing!!
