Create Beauty

Hi there! Jennifer here, and today I'm being inspired by the colors in a photo to create a layout.

Isn't this a gorgeous photo and color combination? Reminds me of summer, actually ;)

Here is my layout based on these colors:

As you can see, I incorporated the pinks, grays and blue - but I did round out the palette by adding a little yellow as well since there was a touch of it in the actual photos that I used.

Instead of doing a traditional title, I pulled one of these inspiration cards out of the Melody Ross Artsy Urban collection. Perfect for a page about my daughter's creative side.

I also used a butterfly from the same collection to embellish the top portion of the layout. Can I do a layout without butterflies?? I think not! ;)

The bottom portion of my layout is embellished with a chipboard ticket from the Fun house line and a chipboard circle from the Soul Food line. So many neat inspirational sayings in that line!

In addition to the supplies I mentioned above, I used patterned papers from the Fun House, Great Outdoors, Material Girls and Homespun Chic lines. Check out scrapbook.com and do a search for 'GCD studios' - they have quite a few products available there!

Before I go, I want to leave you with one more cool tip. Have you heard of the website called Pictalicious? It's an online color palette generator and lets you upload any photo from your computer. I uploaded this picture of my daughter and one of her friend Aidan:

And here is the color palette that was generated:

Neat, right? Now you can go upload your own photos and pull out the perfect colors of paper to scrap them!

Thanks for stopping by today!
