Father's Week: Generations + News

Good day everyone,
I hope you are enjoying our new Issue of The PaperCut. It's only been 1 day and it already has over 1,000 views :) This so warms my crafty heart. Remember to leave a comment here to win the Bonjour collection. Also, the Wallet on the cover has a template and will be here on the blog very soon (6/7/12). So keep a look out for it. It will also have the step by step photos to go with it.

And now to announce the winner of last months give away of our Sweet Tooth Collection...
the winner is....

Really great issue! I love the quilting and stitching sections, but I think my favorite project was Teri's Hi card. Thanks for the chance to win!

Congrats girl and please send me your info to hsonboul@gcdstudios.com . Please title the subject "I won Sweet Tooth".

Oh...one last thing before I go.
Our very own Nina Yang is in the top 20 of Gallery Idol and I'm so proud of her. Her card is beyond adorable and I think if we all vote for her she will have the chance to move onto the next round Here is the link to vote for her

Okay that is it from me and now let's her from the talented Tessa Buys :)

When I think of generations past, I remember family names that have been used again and again, tying people together over decades and even hundreds of years. When my husband and I were giving names to our children, we knew we wanted to carry on that same tradition.

We named our first child after my husband. He gets a kick out of having the same middle name as his daddy - Daniel. Connecting generations is an important aspect of this hobby to me, so I just had to create a layout about the two of them and their shared name.

The blues and greens from the Splendor line were the perfect backdrop for these instagram photos that I captured recently. A pop of red in washi tape and Glimmer Glaze make for a striking contrast and tie the photos into the rest of the design.

Is there a special name in your family? Bring photos together of generations past and present and tell the story of the name through time. The connections you document will be priceless and cherished for generations to come.

Supplies used: Patterned papers: Navy Flora (1681) - Splendor; Woven Chevron (1686) - Splendor; Heirloom (1678) - Splendor; Candytuft (1676) - Spelndor; other: washi tape, mist - Tattered Angels and Studio Calico, cardstock - Bazzill, alphas - Pink Paislee.
