By far, our favorite things to do outdoors in our town, revolve around our trail system. We can count on the trails to be a shady retreat in the summer, a brilliant display of color in the fall and until the first snow fall, the trees provide a protective screen from the winter winds.
Several times a year we ride our bikes on the trail as a family. We bike all the way downtown and have lunch at a terrific local pub and grill. I also try to run the trail as often as I can.
Here's the layout I created to tell our trail story.
And as you can see, even our dog, Tucker, had to be included. I just say, "Let's go to the trail!" and he is ready to go.
Here's another close-up.
So, what's your favorite thing to do in your town?

I live in Knoxville Tn and we are so fortunate to live close to the Smokey Mountains! My fave weekend getaway is to head up there for some quiet time and just enjoy nature! Of course if I am in a shopping mood there is that too!! Up that way in Pigeon Forge there is an AMAZING scrapbook superstore!!!! GOTTA love that!!!ReplyDelete
this is so beautiful! Your pictures are so peaceful - what a neat trail.ReplyDelete
I just moved to a new town so I'm still discovering it. Right now, my favorite thing to do is sit out on our deck, read a book, eat a meal, enjoy the quiet and watch some deer run by.
I just moved to the D.C. area a year ago. I like that there is so much to do here that is FREE. Lots of museums, monuments, historic homes! Also, if you leave the district, you've got lots of wilderness to hike and the Potomac to cruise on.ReplyDelete
